The need for representatives
So, to give a back story of why i decided to write this specific blog, this is an issue that has bothered me for quite some time now from 9th grade to be more specific even though now this issue will not have a huge affect on my own life per say but after having read about the new education policy in India i was intrigued whether they have finally realized this issue .
Even though the new education policy is quite good but I didn't find any thing which indicated the issue which I am going to talk about being addressed ,so keeping this in mind I wanted to see if others too felt that this issue that I am referring to is a issue or not or whether I was just overly head thinking this was an issue so, I took a poll on one of our social media account the vote had a respectable response from the target audience I wanted to research out to with each of them having one vote I got to know that even in this small group thought there were some who were skeptical about the issue and some didn't want such steps to do away with such issues there was a larger crowd who thought this was something that should be done.......
I know this is too much of a back story and you guys might even be contemplating to stop reading this blog so keeping your boredom in mind let me reveal to you what am talking about using a picture of the poll that we conducted:
So, you may be asking your self, but" is this something that really necessary" to that I would like to reference the fact that a lot of educational boards resort to the system of annual trial and error for various aspects of our education, this might involve changing syllabus, style of education, the education system of CCE and as I have experienced this over a period of four years I can say that this isn't a good thing sure some of these reach the required standards and approval a good number of them don't, this effects a majority f students in a lot of ways main way being that they have to change their style of learning and material based on this decision and it takes time for the students to adapt- IT FEELS LIKE WE ARE LAB RATS BEING EXPERIMENTED WITH. I cannot even start to describe the toll it takes on mental health. Now, more than ever we find a need for such a system. We daily see news about different development in the educational field during this pandemic with the emergence of online classes and the problems related to the dates of exam and postponing. This 'want' has become a 'need', sure the parents, educational boards, etc are at it criticizing each other and trying to come to a decision; but, what about what the students want? because at the end of the day even their voices have to be heard it's going to affect them the most, I am not asking for like monopoly be given to students but at least that the organisations at least hear us out. Alongside this, we get a bonus of knowing about the changes beforehand.
So, some of you might ask how can this be done? How can we assure that what we say is being heard? How do we know that the student representatives will not be mere puppets to the administration like a good number of the ones in the school body?
I have heard such question come up. I won't lie to you guys, any plan that we come up with will never be full-proof but, we do need to come up with some plan the beauty of it is that we live in a world that has evolved in the Internet age surely we still don't use this advantage that we have to the fullest I am referring to the fact that good number of people are typing "Binod" for no reason on the internet, but this has helped us a lot the very fact of this can be seen in the creation of online classes/ so keeping this in mind I do have some suggestions for bringing forward student representation in the administrative setup of educational boards
- Why not allow schools to vote a student representative to represent them at a board level I know many will resent this plan since the student that the school votes may not be the representative the students know will be their representative
- another suggestion is why not leave it to chance? I know this might confuse some but, give me a chance to explain. When I say leaving it up to chance, I mean since the boards have sub-branches let them pick a good number of schools at random and out of this just select a random student to represent. Thereby removing the power of the school In this matter, I know there are some flaws. So do read on more suggestion coming up.
- Another suggestion for this digital age is an online survey system where one vote has one value this can be an ideal solution since everyone gets to vote based on their admission number. Since the school would have to take charge of this we can have at the least one or two free periods and come on all of us know we love a free period. This can also be done during your online classes sooooooo if you know what I mean.
- Of course, I am sure you guys too if you believe in the idea of such representation could have idea's regarding the same do comment these ideas to us.
IN ANY WAY SINCE THEY LIKE TRIAL AND ERROR WHY NOT THIS?........REALIZE THIS IS THE IDEAL TIME TO BE HEARD.
